The correct answer is:
A

When fossil fuel burnt in automobile engines different oxides like NO, NO 2 , SO 2 , SO 3 are produced. In the presence of moisture these oxides convert in the acids. THese acids comes down from the atmosphere in the form of rain, called acid rain.

S (from fossil fuel) + O 2 SO 2

SO 2 + O 3 SO 3 + O 2

SO 2 + H 2 O 2 H 2 SO 4

SO 3 + H 2 O H 2 SO 4

2NO 2 + H 2 O HNO 3 + HNO 2
